CAMeC Centro Arte Moderna e Contemporanea is about to inaugurate a new exhibition phase, in which the whole museum will be occupied with projects illustrating a single artistic language in its various contemporary expressions. The new exhibition approach was conceived by Francesca Cattoi, the museum art consultant since 2013, and it underlines the technical aspect of making art, the challenges and potential intrinsic to the medium used which, for this first cycle of exhibitions, is photography.

For the presentation of works from the civic collections the Project Room contains Rethinking the collections: photography, a selection of photographs which have come into the civic art heritage with the Cozzani collection and other subsequent acquisitions. Particular attention is given to artists, such as Man Ray, László Moholy-Nagy, Gilbert & George, Michelangelo Pistoletto, who have used photography combined with painting and sculpture, or have experimented the language of photography as part of conceptual and process art projects and who sometimes meet in the exhibition on the Piano zero.

The following artists are present in the exhibition:Marina Abramovic, Bill Beckley, Mirella Bentivoglio, Joseph Beuys, Gunther Brus, Lamberto Calzolari, Jean Cocteau, James Collins, James Cumming, Roger Cutforth, Jan Dibbets, César Domela, Luciano Fabro, Gilbert & George, Coco Gordon, Dan Graham, Nicole Gravier, Peter Hutchinson, Vassilis Kalantzis, Jiří Kolář, Urs Lüthi, Richard Bruce Mc Lean, Annette Messager, Lazlo Moholy-Nagy, Hermann Nitsch, Dennis Oppenheim, Stanislao Pacus, Gina Pane, Luca Patella, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Fabrizio Plessi, Arnulf Rainer, Man Ray, Rudolf Schwarzkogler, George Tatge, Luigi Veronesi, Edwin Zwakman.
